Happy Thanksgiving

We are about to make our first adventure out of our home to my parents for Thanksgiving. I figure it can go really good or really bad. Its a lot to pack up, organize and get ready but I think it will be worth it once we arrive. I can't believe that its already Thanksgiving and that the girls are almost 6 months. They are all going great and getting so big. We have been working really hard with physical therapy at home and outpatient to work on their heads and necks. We went to Kennedy Krieger to see a specialist who unfortunately told us that even with all the hard work Brooke needs a helmet for her head. She will get fitted and molded for her helmet on Dec. 2nd and then it takes a few weeks to arrive. Hopefully this will help her flattening and help her neck muscles. They will be going next week for their 6 month checkup and their second round of RSV shots. Developmentally they are doing new things each day. Lexi started rolling, followed by Brooke the day after her. They are both rolling from their backs to their bellies and sometimes back to their backs. Brynn has rolled once from her belly to her back but otherwise is not interested. She would rather watch her sisters roll to their bellies and get very angry that they can't get back.

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for this year. To think back to last Thanksgiving when I knew I was pregnant but not with three. How things can change in one year. We will be thankful this year for a four beautiful, healthy and happy girls!! 

5 Months Old

Happy Belated Halloween and Happy 5 months for the girls!!

So what have we been up to at our house....lots!!

The girls are still getting physical therapy in our house one time per week to work on their heads and necks. We are starting this Friday to go to outpatient therapy one time per week. This is going to be a lot but we are hoping that it will help and possibly keep all the girls out of the Doc Bands or helmets for their heads. We are so blessed to have such wonderful doctors who love our girls (all four of them). Our two favorite, Ms. Zoe and Dr. Tesch, visited our house and had a lunch date with us. They are the kindest and most caring people and are naturally wonderful at their jobs. Dr. Tesch brought her baby Sydney who was born right around the girls' due date. So I guess this was the girls' first play date (if you want to call it that).

Taking everyone places is never easy. Tom and I are guilty of not going out enough with the girls but its just so much work. We are trying harder to get them out for things other then doctor appointments. I'm afraid if we don't, they are going to start to hate the car because the only place it takes them is to the doctor's office. So we did get out for my Grandma Kate's 89th Birthday dinner and party. Hannah and the girls had lots of fun! There were plenty of willing people to hold babies so Tom and I actually sat, ate and enjoyed a warm, yummy dinner!!

This week we take Brooke and Brynn to the pulmonologist. Hopefully we will be saying good-bye to the monitors. This will make sleeping much easier without all the wires going everywhere.

The girls have appointments at Kennedy Krieger in Baltimore with a doctor who specializes in torticollis and plagiocephaly (the flattening of the head) We are going to see what this doctor recommends and make a decision about the Doc Bands.

We celebrated Halloween and the girls turning five months. I think Halloween is Hannah's favorite holiday which is funny since she can't really eat most of what she collects. But anyway we had a great day. The girls got their first round of RSV shots (they will get one each month until March). This was great news since the insurance stamped "denied" on the paperwork the first time. But we won the appeal and they got their shots. (another big thank you to Ms. Zoe, our nurse practioner at the doctor"s office, who took on the insurance company and won!! ) When we got back from the shots we put everyone in their costumes for photos. Hannah and Lexi liked dressing up.  Brooke and Brynn were not so happy! But everyone looked cute!
