Erin had a rather difficult night. At midnight they needed to change her IV site. This process took about an hour. Then around 3am they had a sonogram and the babies still look great. They also take vitals every hour. Around 6am Erin woke up not feeling well. At that time we were told they had to increase the Magnesium level even more because she was having consistent contractions. The side effects got more intense.
After six straight days of the Magnesium, Erin had enough and asked to see the Doctor. The Doctor agreed to take her off the Magnesium to try an oral medication that has less side effects.
We are currently weening off the Mag. So far the contractions have not increased. Erin has to be off the Mag completely for two hours before they can start the new medication.
Two scenarios can develop from switching the meds. The new medicine may continue to hold off the contractions or Erin could go into labor. If she goes into labor they will not stop it this time. The babies have had the Steroids they need. A C-section would be performed.
At the moment Erin is getting some well deserved rest.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Tom
I am glad to hear that Erin is now able to get some rest. We will continue to pray that her labor holds off for a few more days. I am hopeful that the oral med will be much better for her. We are thinking off you constantly and praying for you often... even Mom in Ireland is keeping you in her prayers!! Don't second guess your decision to stop the mag - you know what you need to do. Less stress on you means less stress on the babies. Even if your labor does start again it doesn't change the fact that you are amazing, handling this with grace, and are doing great!! Much love - Heather

I just thought of something...How about books on CD? You can get them from the library (they have Best Sellers) or you can download them online onto an ipod. Maybe that will help the time go by... hopefully a little.
Love ya-

What a relief to be off that awful Magnesium! Hopefully, now you can start feeling a little better and get some good rest in before utter chaos begins. We're all thinking of you and can't wait to hear more news. You've been amazing!!

I hope things are better for you. I saw Hannah this morning and she was so cute. I'm glad she gets to visit. I went shopping for your mom and got to visit with your grandmother and the aunt that teaches near you. Hope you're feeling better. We're thinking of you and praying for you every moment. My church is praying for you too. Love, Memaw

HI Guys...
Hang in there! I am so proud of you- We can only imagine what you are going thru.
You made it to 32 weeks and the steriods are in full effect. TWO major accomplishments!
Try to rest now that you have some relief from the mag. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
